Vines, rocks and a garden full of spices await you on this relatively short tour with a very challenging ascent through vineyards and rocks to the Ürziger Höhe.
The starting point of the hike is the Moselle village of Ürzig. From here, the trail leads through the “Ürziger Würzgarten” vineyard and the themed garden of the same name. While the Moselle community was first mentioned as Ursiacum in 700, the “Ürziger Würzgarten” vineyard dates back to the 13th century. Ürzig is considered the wine-growing community with the highest proportion of steep slopes in Germany.
