Dear Guests,
Starting Monday, 29 June 2026, construction work will begin to improve the road infrastructure on the B 269 near Lösnich.
The project includes the construction of a new access ramp with a parallel cycle path between the Lösnich Bridge and the B 53, the refurbishment of the Lösnich roundabout, and the resurfacing of the B 53 between the Ürzig roundabout and the Lösnich Bridge.
Due to the scale of the project, the work will be carried out in two phases.
Phase 1 (29 June 2026 – expected until 8 August 2026) | Refurbishment of the Lösnich roundabout and construction of the new access ramp with cycle path
To prepare for the construction work, a temporary bypass road from the Lösnich parking area to the bridge will be built from Wednesday, 24 June 2026. These preparatory works are not expected to cause significant traffic disruption.
From 29 June 2026, the Lösnich roundabout will be completely closed for approximately two weeks while refurbishment works are carried out. During this period, the B 269 from the Hochmosel Crossing towards Lösnich will be closed.
Diversion:
Towards Traben-Trarbach: B 50 Hochmosel Bridge – B 50 Platten – B 53.
The diversion in the opposite direction follows the same route in reverse.
Access to the village of Lösnich will remain possible via a temporary access road from the B 53.
As part of the refurbishment, the existing glued inner kerbs of the roundabout will be replaced with permanent slip-formed concrete kerbs. The carriageway will also be widened and resurfaced.
Once the roundabout has been completed, construction of the new access ramp and the parallel cycle path between the Lösnich Bridge and the B 53 will begin. During this period, the ramp will be completely closed. However, access from the Hochmosel Crossing to Lösnich and Erden will again be possible, as the roundabout will then be fully reopened.
The first construction phase will take place during the summer holidays, from 29 June 2026 until approximately 8 August 2026. The schedule has been coordinated with the district administration to minimise disruption to school transport.
